A Tempo

A Tempo Research Group was established in 2013 with the purpose of promoting critical studies on artistic and pedagogical practices, understood as a bidirectional process between experience and reflection. This approach involves immersion in the fields of musicology, research-creation, and educational research, addressed from a transdisciplinary perspective. Currently, the A Tempo Research Group is affiliated with the School of Arts in the Faculty of Human Sciences at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS).

One of A Tempo’s main areas of interest is sound and intermedial creation, a research area dedicated to the systematic and critical study of artistic creation and performance processes. This research area promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of artistic, technological, and philosophical media.

Another fundamental research area of the group is music pedagogy, which seeks to question, analyze, and reflect on current pedagogical practices. Through an interdisciplinary approach, it integrates contributions from psychology, cognition, philosophy, and other fields of knowledge. The group develops and strengthens meaningful music education practices that benefit the community.
