Population, Environment and Development Research Group (GPAD)

ABOUT OUR Group

The Population, Environment and Development Research Group (GPAD) originated from the Tagua Student Research Group in 2004. GPAD provides a space where knowledge interests and the analysis of complex social realities are integrated through research and outreach activities aimed at promoting social change.

The Group currently holds an A1 classification in the 2024 Minciencias ranking, reflecting the work and commitment of an interdisciplinary team with expertise in social work, sociology, philosophy, biology, and economics.

GPAD is a collective that views research as a means rather than an end. Its members are strongly committed to the social responsibility of public universities and academia as a whole, as well as to the transformative potential of social organizations and communities in advancing the protection and fulfillment of human rights.
